Robb was an extraordinary and prolific artist.
(Pictures coming soon!) Robb’s art ranged in size and complexity from delicate feather earrings to large wall hangings. He sold and exhibited his work at art shows throughout the US and internationally. It is difficult to know how many pieces Robb created in his lifetime. Many were sold or traded immediately, and records of who bought or received them were poorly kept. Most of Robb’s art is currently held in private collections or by his family members. If anyone reading this site has photos or stories about Robb’s work that they’d like to share, please contact us. We’d like to collect and display them. That said, we do know the stories of a few special pieces... Robb was asked to create a series of special edition pieces for the North Dakota centennial celebration. One of which was a centennial design on a pair of cowboy boots. An avid member of the Loretta Lynn fan club, he once created a portrait of her in leather which she hung in her office. He was also asked to make chaps for the Hell’s Angels. Robb told his nieces and nephews that when he delivered them, they said, "Robb, if you give anyone our logo, we’ll have to kill you." (Sometimes Robb liked to tell stories :-) ) Some of Robb’s leather art is also available for sale. These pictures are noted as "for sale" on this page and descriptions are provided below. Please contact us for more information. If interested in sketches, doodles, or incomplete pieces, using Robb’s art for display at museums or galleries or for purchase of patterns or instructional videos, please contact us.
For Sale: Three Kings As with all of Robb’s creations, this piece is made out of one piece of leather. Only the handmade leather feathers were added separately. It took over 300 hours to complete this leather carving. The following pictures are details from this large piece.
The next picture shows the 3-dimensional quality of Robb’s work.
More pictures of Robb’s work coming soon!
